SGGP, Navy High Command present scholarships to soldiers’ children

Sai Gon Giai Phong and Vietnamese High Command of Navy offered 20 scholarships worth VND1 million (US$46.9) each to children of navy soldiers, who are currently protecting the country's sovereignty on sea and islands, in Hai Phong Province on June 24.

Department of Politics' leader gave a photo of President Ho Chi Minh and navy soldiers to SGGP representatives.

Colonel Nguyen Phong Canh from Navy Force said at the ceremony that the scholarships are a timely and precious encouragement for soldiers’ children. He expected that the newspaper and navy high commander board will continue offering support to soldiers’ families so that soldiers can focus on their work offshore to protect the country’s sovereignty.

The scholarships are taken from the fund “Join hands for sea and islands” contributed by primary and senior high school students in Ho Chi Minh City and launched by SGGP.
