SGGP’s Concert to Raise Money for Ethnic Minorities

A charity concert called “Passage of time” Organized by Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper will take place at Ben Thanh Theatre in Ho Chi Minh City on 2 December 2007, aiming to raise money to support ethnic minorities in Kon Tum and Quang Binh provinces and also to help disadvantaged students in Dien Bien Province.

After its first show in 1996, this is the fifth time that the musical performance provides an opportunity for sponsors, organizations and enterprises in the city to help ethnic minority groups.
This year, an initiative by the organizer will grant badges reading “For community” to enterprises and individuals who have made outstanding contributions in community development over the years.
On stage will be well-known singers including Quang Ly, Duy Quang, Huong Lan, Cam Van, Phuong Thanh, Ho Ngoc Ha, Quang Linh, Duc Tuan and Hien Thuc, to name a few.
All proceeds raised from the previous concerts were donated to building four dormitories for teachers in Dien Bien Province, a kindergarten in Kon Tum, giving 1,000 cows and pigs to ethnic minorities and 1,000 bicycles to disadvantaged students in Kon Tum and Quang Binh Provinces.
