Sri Lanka, Ho Chi Minh City to Boost Ties

Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka arrived in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday on his four-day official visit to Viet Nam, and the first place of his visit was Ba Son Shipyard.

In the evening, he attended a reception chaired by HCMC People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan.

Ho Chi Minh City mayor said the visit will create a boost to the friendship and cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Sri Lanka.

The chairman hoped Sri Lankan businesses will quickly expand their trade and investment in Ho Chi Minh City, adding that the municipal authorities themselves will facilitate Sri Lankan entrepreneurs here.

The visiting PM expressed his hope that Sri Lanka and Viet Nam will further foster economic and trade cooperation, and said Sri Lanka supports Viet Nam’s joining international land regional forums.

As planned, he will visit Cu Chi Tunnel and War Remnants Museum on Wednesday morning.
