State President Tran Duc Luong Sends a Message to Thank Chinese President Hu Jintao

Chinese sailors of Nanhaijiu were helping the DN90189 Vietnamese fishing boat.

President Tran Duc Luong sent a message to thank Chinese president Hu Jintao on May 22, 2006 for the help of Chinese government and relevant authorities to Vietnamese fishermen who were in distress on open sea in the midst of typhoon Chanchu.

“Many fishing boats and Vietnamese fishermen were in dire straits caused by the typhoon Chanchu, Chinese government and relevant authorities have mobilized boats and rescuers to save tens of fishing boats and hundreds of fishermen.

We are deeply touched by the significant assistance by Chinese people and government which reflect the closed relationship, comradeship and brotherhood between two countries.

On behalf of The Party, State and people of Viet Nam, I wish to express our profound gratitude to The Party, State and people of China, especially the people who are taking part in the rescue missions”, President Tran Duc Luong said in his message.
