Storm Kammuri Weakens into Depression

After entering Quang Ninh Province, storm Kammuri, the forth typhoon to hit Viet Nam this year, has weakened into a tropical depression, and is causing heavy rains in northern provinces.

The wind speed at the center of this tropical depression has lowered to 39 km/h. The Central Weather Bureau forecast that the depression will be over in 24 hours while heavy and very heavy rains will remain in many parts of the North today and tomorrow.

In the past three days, high-speed boats running from Rach – Phu Quoc and vice verse had to halt their operation due to the storm, causing delay to more than 800 passengers. Many passengers had little choice but to cancel their tickets.
