Strong winds destroy tens of houses in Quang Nam

Some 100 houses and nearly 40 hectares of rice crops were damaged, and many cattle killed by strong winds and heavy rains in Thang Binh District, Quang Nam Province, May 29.

Viet Son Hamlet received the most damage, with some 60 houses partially destroyed and 12 completely flattened.

In Binh Lanh Commune, the storm caused damage to 19 houses and destroyed 40 hectares of rice plants.

The typhoon also brought disruption to power supplies, cutting off 192 families in the area.

The estimated damage is some VND500 million. No deaths were reported.
