A fire at a mattress warehouse in Quy Nhon City of Binh Dinh Province destroyed several sewing machines and bales of stacked fabric, causing a loss of nearly VND20 billion (US$952,000).

The warehouse of the Saigon Max Company located in the Phu Tai Industrial Zone, caught fire around 8 pm on Feb.26, fortunately at a time when workers had left for home and so no casualties were reported.
Six fire-engines of the Binh Dinh Province fire-brigade and 20 fire fighters were sent to the scene. The blaze was so intense that it took a few hours to bring it under control. Finally it was put out by 1 am on Feb.27.
Another fire occurred at 1 am on Feb.27 at a warehouse belonging to the Hanh Nguyen Company, located in Buon Ma Thuot City of Dak Lak Province.
The fire destroyed the 420 square metre warehouse along with goods and a truck, amounting to a loss that went into tens of billion VND.
The Dak Lac Province fire department sent six fire-engines and more than 40 fire-fighters to the scene. By 4 am the fire was under control.
On the same day, at 3.30 pm a fire in Hai Duong City caused damages of hundreds of million VND.
A resident, who first saw the blaze, said that she heard an explosion from a house next to hers. Two people were sleeping inside the house when the fire occurred. They run out of the house when people shouted for them to come out.
According to Nguyen Quang Son, who had rented the house, the fire was caused when a motorbike suddenly ignited.
All the fires are being investigated by the provincial authorities.
