The upgrade aims to exploit more effectively wide-body aircrafts B777 and B747 as well as reduce runway landing overrun.

The CAAV has asked relevant departments and investors to implement the upgrade work in the dry season from April 10 to June 25, take the advantage of the good weather before the long wet season comes.

Accordingly, the use of the 25L/07R runway is expected to be restricted on May 10-July 25.

The CAAV affirmed that the construction will not greatly affect the business operation of airlines during the upcoming holiday (April 30-May 1).

The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam has worked with airlines to change departure or landing time of local flights during the construction.

The CAAV and the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) will send an official report to Minister of Transport on April 2.
