Top Vietnamese leader to visit Laos, Cambodia

 General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)’s Central Committee and President Nguyen Phu Trong will pay an official friendly visit to Laos from February 24-25, and a state visit to Cambodia from February 25-26, an announcement from the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations has said.

The visits will be made at the invitations of General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President Bounnhang Vorachith, and Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni.
Vietnam-Laos relations were founded by late Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh and his Lao counterpart Kaysone Phomvihane, and have been nurtured by generations of leaders and the peoples of the two countries over the past seven decades, blossoming into a valuable treasure of the two nations.
The traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation have been unceasingly cemented.
Meanwhile, with diplomatic ties established on June 24, 1967, Vietnam and Cambodia have maintained mutual high-ranking visits, as well as delegation exchanges between their ministries, sectors and localities.
