Traffic inspector sacked for involved in assaulting female airport employee

After a meeting on October 24 presided by Director of the Hanoi Department of Transport Vu Van Vien, traffic inspector Dao Vinh Thuan of the Department was fired for his involvement in the assault of a female Vietnam Airlines employee on October 18.

The meeting concluded that Thuan had conducted many disciplinary violations, including unapproved leave and physical abuse of a woman in public.

Director Vien said that such actions had seriously affected the image of a traffic inspector under the department asking employees in the sector to draw a lesson from the case; accordingly, the director decided to terminate Thuan’s labor contract from November 1, 2016.

As press reported that on October 18, in Noi Bai Airport, camera at the airport recorded two men involved in attacking a female employee; one man grabbed Vietnam Airlines customer service deputy by her collar while another passenger continuously hit her on the head.

Two men verified are Tran Duong Tung and Dao Vinh Thuan while they were finishing formality for the flight VN7256 from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City.

The Vietnam Airline customer service deputy Nguyen Le Quynh Anh was taken to Saint Paul for checking after the assault.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and related agencies wrote a report and issue a harsh penalty on them.

The Prime Minister office October 20 had sent PM’s guideline on the case that People’s Committee in Hanoi must report the case to PM in October and Party Committee also required police in Hanoi to handle the case and impose strict punishment on those involved in the case as per the law.
