Transport Ministry announces anti- corruption hot line

Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The kindly requested all citizens, and contractors to call the Ministry’s hotline 024.39413313 or leaders of the Ministry’s anti-corruption department when discovering corrupt public sector employees who have excessive demands.

In his direction, Transport Minister Nguyen Van The has ordered to tighten project management to prevent and deter corrupt public sector staffs from taking bribe in the transport industry.
The Minister asked investors, project management boards and related agencies to raise their responsibility in controlling corruption in the sector. Especially, the Ministry requested each unit to verify individual responsibility and carry out synchronous measures against corruption in a project.
When it comes to bidding, leaders of departments will be held accountable for implementation of contractor selection through online bidding as per the Prime Minister’s decision No.1402/2016.
During the execution of projects, agencies have to enhance supervision and inspection to soon handle violations such as taking bribe, accepting grease to fix bidding result and cheating during bidding procedure or hampering tender process. Moreover, agencies must ensure a transparent and fair bidding.
The Ministry affirmed a severe penalty on violating contractors and publicized the name of those breaking contracts. Violating tenderers will be eliminated in the next bidding.
Furthermore, the Ministry prohibited redesigning, assessment and takeover of state-funded work against governmental regulations.
Additionally, The minsitry banned relevant agencies from choosing unable contractors for construction projects and colluding with others to pervert the design, tender result and estimates of the project.
