US provides $1.69 mln to remove Danang Agent Orange residue

The US Government will provide US$1.69 million to clean up residues of Agent Orange at Danang Airport used by the US during the Vietnam War, according to a press release from the US Embassy in Hanoi October 1.

The US Agency for International Development has entrusted CDM International Inc. with the task which is expected to be completed within a year.

The US has promised to spend more than two-thirds of the $6 million it received from the Congressional budget on health care and AO/Dioxin environmental remediation in Vietnam.
