Various activities mark International Women’s Day

Members of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Union gathered on March 6 to observe International Women’s Day as well as 1973 anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Revolt.

On this occasion, they listened to reports on the campaign ‘Fulfilling State Affairs and Family Business,’ joined in a card designing contest with the theme on Spratly Islands, and presented handmade handkerchiefs for soldiers working on the Spratly Islands.

Up till now, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Union has raised approximately VND5 billion (about US$239,000) for the fund ‘Dear Spratly Islands’.

On the same day, the High Command of Military Zone 7 organized a meeting to celebrate the 103rd anniversary of International Women’s Day and the Traditional Day of Female Soldiers.

Military Zone 7 is trying its best to provide more opportunities to female soldiers to prove themselves in all aspects and help in building a balanced and strong army to protect their homeland.

The Vietnam Women’s Union in Da Nang City held an awards presentation ceremony on March 6 for excellent local women’s unions. At this event, they also launched the campaign ‘Follow Uncle Ho’s words and help reduce poverty’.
