Senior officials from the two Communist parties of Viet Nam and China on Sunday gathered to discuss the scientific concept of the development and construction of a harmonious socialist society.
The secretary of Viet Nam’s Central Party Committee, To Huy Rua, attended the conference.
His Chinese counterpart, Liu Yunshan, said the seminar would enable each party to learn from the other’s experiences in pursuing socialist ideals.
Mr Liu also said that China and Viet Nam share common ideals and interests and that China is willing to make joint efforts with Viet Nam in exploring ways to successfully foster socialism.
Mr. To Huy Rua said Viet Nam has always paid attention to, studied and learned from China's experience during its reform and opening-up drive.
He expressed his confidence that the seminar between scientists of the two parties and the two countries will raise cooperative and friendly ties between Viet Nam and China to a new height.
The seminar on socialist theories between the two Communist parties, the third of its kind, is scheduled to run until July 30.
