Viet Nam Fatherland Front Extends Christmas Greetings to Protestants

Vice President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) Le Truyen on Dec. 22 visited and congratulated members of the Executive Board of the General Confederation of the Evangelical Church of Viet Nam (north) on the occasion of Christmas.

On behalf of the VFFCC, Mr.Truyen praised the Protestant Church's implementation of the Ordinance on Religion and Beliefs and the Prime Minister's directive on a number of tasks regarding Protestantism. He hailed the church's active contribution to national construction.

Mr.Truyen said he hoped that the Protestants would be on the watch for bad elements' attempts to undermine national unity and religious unity. He called on believers to join efforts to promote economic development, reduce poverty and improve the living conditions.

Reverend Phung Quang Huyen, Head of the General Confederation of the Evangelical Church of Viet Nam (north), thanked the VFF for its assistance to the church and expressed his hope that the VFF would continue to help the General Confederation. Protestant clerics will continue encouraging followers to obey the law and actively take part in humanitarian movements, he said.
