Vietnam and South Korea join hands to protect environment

Green Technology Center Korea (GTC-K) and Center of Regional and Urban Studies (CRUS) signed the Memorandum of Understanding to establish cooperative relationship in the fields of environmental protection, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and urban development on the 19th February 2018 at the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Republic of Korea in Seoul.

This event was held with the cooperation of the Science and Technology Office (the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam) and the Ministry of Science and ICT (the Government of Republic of Korea).
GTC-K is a national research and development think-tank under the Ministry of Science and Technology and is established by the Government of the Republic of Korea to work on green and sustainable growth as well as climate change adaptation and mitigation technologies to for transfering to developing countries; whereas CRUS is a member of Ho Chi Minh City Union of Science and Technology Associations (HUSTA), which is established to study on solutions for economic, social and environmental issues generated during the development of different regions and cities in Viet Nam.
Dr. In-Hwan Oh, President of GTC-K, said: "Through this MoU, we plan to promote joint researches and researchers exchange with CRUS within the framework of Korea – Viet Nam billateral cooperation in science and technology for solving environment and climate change issues at the urban and regional scales".
