Vietnam & Cuba mark 56th anniversary of diplomatic ties establishment

The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee yesterday celebrated the 56th anniversary of establishment of Vietnam- Cuba diplomatic ties (December 2nd, 1960- 2016) and the 58th anniversary of the National Day of Cuba (January 1st, 1959- 2017).

Attending in the solemn ceremony were former Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Thanh Hai, Chairwoman of the HCMC People’s Council Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam, Deputy Secretary of the city’s Party Committee Vo Thi Dung, Deputy Chairwoman of the HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Thu, President of Vietnam- Cuba Friendship Association in the city Truong Thi Hien, Cuban Consulate General in the city Bernabe Garcia Valido and his wife and others guests.

Speaking at the celebration, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu said that the good traditional friendship ties, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba have been fostered by many generations of leaders and people of the two nations.

She hoped that enterprises of the two countries will continue bettering the multi- faced cooperation as hi- tech agriculture & industry, consumer goods, infrastructure & production, car assembling, cargo exchange, retail and tourist services.

Cuban consulate general Bernabe Garcia Valido shared that his country is one of worldwide countries having the lowest rates of newborn deaths, and a leading modern science center about heredity technology and biotechnology, tourist development. Additionally, Cuba is known as one of the most attractive tourist destinations.
