Vietnam, Cuba promote food production and aquaculture

The Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Cuban Minister of Food Industry Maria Del Carmen Concepcion Gonzalez at the Government Office in Hanoi on September 8.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung affirmed that Vietnam is willing to work with Cuba on food production and seafood farming and processing, expressing hope that the joint project on wet rice cultivation between the two countries will be carried out effectively and create outstanding contribution to the people’ living and guarantee food security of Cuba.

Minister of Food Industry Maria Del Carmen Concepcion Gonzalez stressed that Cuba particularly appreciated the relationship between the two sides  and wished to intensify its cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of food production and aquaculture.

The Latin American country also hoped that Vietnam will continue to provide assistance and share experience on the intensive cultivation of wet rice and the cross-breeding of crop varieties.
