Vietnam expresses concern about situation in Syria

Vietnam is concerned about the current situation in Syria and protests the use of force which threatens the normal life of innocent civilians and peace and stability in the region, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lê Thị Thu Hằng said yesterday.

“We believe that all disputes and differences should be settled by peaceful means on the basis of international law, especially the United Nations Charter, and of the principle of respecting independence and sovereignty of countries,” the spokesperson said in response to the new developments in Syria.

She also urged absolute adherence to the UN Chemical Weapons Convention. — VNS
