Vietnam will assist Laos in developing a development strategic plan for its agricultural sector, rural areas and farmers.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has submitted to the Government for approval an expenditure plan for the 5 billion VND project, to be implemented over one year and a half from this year. It is in the framework of the two countries’ agreement on cooperation in economics, culture and technological science, which was signed on Jan. 8, 2009.
The plan, funded by the Vietnamese government’s aid, aims to help Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to set up a detailed development strategy on the basis of assessment on the country’s agriculture development context and the real situation of rural areas and farmers. The strategy will include visions and policies as well as solutions to agricultural issues.
