Vietnam hosts Asia-Pacific Disability Forum Conference

The 2014 Asia-Pacific Disability Forum Conference (APDF) was officially opened in Hanoi in the morning of November 27, with the participation of more than 500 delegates and disabled people from countries and territories, including nearly 200 international delegations and 300 domestic guests.

The general conference which taking place from November 26 to 28, is considered as a meaningful celebration to response the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3).

Asia- Pacific people with disability conference forum has been held once two years. Two years ago, the first conference was held successfully in Incheon (Korea).

This year’s forum target is to review the progress made on the realization of the rights of people with disabilities set in a strategy reached at the first APDF in Incheon, the Republic of Korea in 2012.

The program aims to create condition for disabled people integrate with the community.

Vietnam is the host country for the 2014 Asia-Pacific Disability Forum Conference, has planned a series of practical activities such as exhibition on charity activities of association for persons with disabilities, a display of products made by disabled people, launching marathon.
