Vietnam - Japan tighten strategic partnerships

Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Fumio Kishida had a taking with President of State Truong Tan Sang yesterday on the occasion of his visit to Vietnam.

At the meeting, President Truong Tan Sang affirmed that Vietnam treasured relationship as well as strategic partnership with Japan. Thus, Vietnam will continue to create best conditions to attract Japanese enterprise’s investment into Vietnam market in the future.

Japanese Minister Fumio Kishida expressed his determination in tightening closely strategic partnership with Vietnam through this visit.

Japan has supported Vietnam’s policies in resolving disputes in East Sea based on international law and peace respect.

On the same day, Mr.Fumio Kishida had a meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. At the meeting, Prime Minister Dung expressed his desire both Vietnam and Japan will continue to strengthen multilateral cooperation in economy, trade, investment, tourism, culture, society, education- training, science and technology, defense cooperation and security.

The cooperation between two countries in economy, trade and investment fields is very large therefore, Japan is willing to boost the cooperation with Vietnam, said Mr.Fumio Kishida.

On this occasion, PM Nguyen Tan Dung thanked Japanese Government for providing six marine ships to help improve Vietnam’s maritime law enforcement capacity in protecting Vietnam’s sea, islands sovereignty.

Japan appreciated the stand of Vietnam in maintaining the country’s sovereignty on sea, islands. Japan’s side also pledged strongly in maintaining peace, stability, maritime freedom in the East Sea because it is responsibility and common interest of international community.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh and Mr.Fumio Kishida chaired the sixth meeting of the Vietnam - Japan Cooperation Committee yesterday in Ha Noi on August 1.

Minister Fumio Kishida affirmed that Vietnam -a major partner of Japan in Official Development Assistant provision (ODA), and Japanese Government will continue to maintain a high level officials of ODA provision for Vietnam in human resource training, climate exchange prevention in the future.

Two sides discussed on cooperation in the infrastructural projects like Bach Dang bridge, Can Tho University and Vietnam-Japan University.

Japan will continue to cooperate with Vietnam in building and implementing Vietnam’s projects in the future within the framework of Vietnam-Japan cooperation, added Minister Fumio Kishida.
