Vietnam National Assembly Chairwoman attends Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum

Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan yesterday led a high- ranking NA delegation to arrive in Siem Reap, Kingdom of Cambodia in order to attend  the 27th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-27) from January 14 to 17, 2019.

The presence is according to an invitation of Cambodian National Assembly Speaker, President of the APPF- 27 Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin. 

The 27th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum under a theme of “Strengthening parliamentary partnership for peace, security and sustainable development” is aim at ensuring peace, security and sustainable development.

The participation of the Vietnamese NA delegation aims to affirm the country’s role and position at the forum as well as country’s diplomatic efforts to contribute to the building of peace, cooperation and development. 

This is also an opportunity for the members of the Vietnam’s National Assembly in order to meet and discuss with parliamentarians about common concerns of the region and the world.

In the APPF- 27 framework, General Secretary cum Head of the National Assembly Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc had a meet ing with Cambodia's National Assembly General Secretary Leng Peng Long.

At the meeting, the two leaders agreed to promote mutual cooperation in information exchage. On this occasion, Cambodia's General Secretary Leng Peng Long put forward Vietnam continues to maintain human resource training in the field of information technology, including data managers, improving qualifications for Cambodian officials.
