Vietnam plans to have around 110-130 Television Channels by 2015, as per a decision made by the Prime Minister.

By 2015, the country will have 70-80 channels for broadcasting news while 40-50 channels while link to pay television networks.

The number of foreign channels will also be equal to local ones, but contents will be censored.

The country will strive to have 30-40 percent of households using pay television by 2015; and the figure is expected to rise to 60-70 percent by 2020.

To achieve this target, measures will be implemented for enhancing information, propaganda, improving mechanisms and calling for more investments, to raise quality of pay television.
