Vietnam tightens measures to prevent traffic accidents in highways, railways

The Ministry of Public Security August 1 sent its dispatch on traffic accident preventive measures on highways.

Accordingly, traffic police in highways should strengthen inspection and control on such road and employ equipments to detect and handle traffic violations including speeding, wrong parking, safety distance, changing lines without signal beforehand, drinking alcohol while driving, overloading.

Police are determined to tighten traffic violations in railways, policemen have issued 1,714 administrative fines submitting VND473,120,000 (US$ 22,297) to the nation's coffers. After three month implementation of handling violations, railway traffic accidents reduced by four cases or 4.3 percent compared to last year.
