Vietnam to attend ‘World Festival of Youth and Students’ in Ecuador

A delegation of outstanding young people from Vietnam will participate in the 18th World Festival of Youth and Students in Quito in the Republic of Ecuador from December 7-13.

A delegation of outstanding young people from Vietnam will participate in the 18th World Festival of Youth and Students in Quito in the Republic of Ecuador from December 7-13.

The delegation will include students, workers and youth who will take part in activities such as a forum themed ‘Vietnamese youth and the process of national renewal, building and defense’; an international court against imperialism that condemns use of chemical weapons in war; photo exhibitions on Vietnam; youth activities in building and protecting the country; victims of Agent Orange; conference and workshop on role of Vietnamese youth in poverty reduction; protection of rights of children and gender equality; implementation of millennium development goals; cultural exchanges; and art performances.

The World Festival of Youth and Students is held annually by the World Federation of Democratic Youth.

This year’s event is themed ‘Youth unite against imperialism, for world peace, solidarity and social transformation’, and will include activities such as an opening ceremony, Africa Day, America Day, Asia-Pacific Day, Europe Day, Middle East Day, Ecuador Day and a closing ceremony.
