Vietnam, US strengthen air force cooperation

Lieutenant General, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defense Minister Phan Van Giang yesterday received General David L. Goldfein, Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense on his working in the country.

The defense relationship between Vietnam and the United States has been increasingly developed, being suitable with the capabilities and needs of each party, and achieved positive results in all fields.

The parties believed that the success of defense relations would contribute positively to the Vietnam - US comprehensive partnership.

Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang affirmed that the Ministry of National Defense and the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army would always support and create favorable conditions to promote mutual defense cooperation with the United States, including the air force. 

General David L. Goldfein emphasized that the air force cooperation between the two countries along with other cooperation sectors over the past time achieved positive developments through professional exchange, sharing experiences about flight safety, aviation medicine, search and rescue, English training for pilot, etc.
