Vietnam welcomes Russia investors to Vietnam, President Nguyen Minh Triet said at the Presidency Palace on February 18 in Hanoi.

President Triet welcomed a Russian medical group’s decision to invest in the Vietnam-Russia International Eye Hospital, which was inaugurated in Hanoi the same day, and emphasized the project will help promote Russia’s eye surgery technology in the region.

At the Presidency Palace, President Triet welcomed Prof. Khristo Takhchidi, General Director of the Eye Microsurgery Complex, cum chairman of Russia Ophthalmology Association.

Prof. Takhchidi also attended the opening ceremony of the Vietnam- Russia International Eye Hospital.

This is the first cooperation project, which was approved during Mr. Triet’s visit to Russia late October last year, it is within the framework of humanitarian and social affairs between Vietnam and Russia over the past 20 years.

This is a project between the Vietnam-Russian International Eye Hospital Joint Stock and the Eye Microsurgery Complex, built in order to protect the ophthalmologic health of Vietnamese and Russians.

President Triet assured that Vietnam will create advantageous conditions for the complex to operate in the country.

The Vietnam-Russia International Eye Hospital is one of the first steps towards bringing Vietnam- Russian relations to new heights as the two countries’ leaders had previously agreed upon, he added.

He affirmed that Russia is a strategic partner and loyal friend of Vietnam. Russia did and continues to train civil servants who help build and develop the country.

Vietnam welcomes Russian investors to invest and do business in Vietnam, he said.

Prof. Takhchidi said the Vietnam- Russia International Eye Hospital is the first project of the medical group in Vietnam. In future, the plan is to build a second such hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, with a total of four hospitals in Vietnam.

These hospitals will provide hi-tech services to patients and train and transfer technology to Vietnamese surgeons, he adds.
 
The Eye Microsurgery Complex works under Ophthalmologist Fyodorov name and is recognized as one of the leading ophthalmologic centers both in Russia and internationally.

The clinic is unique due to the constant innovations of modern techniques in diagnostics and eye microsurgery developed under the guidance of Prof. S. N. Fyodorov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and laureate of numerous national and international prizes.
