Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument inaugurated in Battambang

An inauguration ceremony of Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument was solemnly held in Battambang town of Phnom Penh yesterday.

Attending in the ceremony were Deputy Standing Chairman and Acting Secretary General of the Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodian Motherland (SFDCM) National Council Nhem Valy, Battambang Governor Chann Sophal, Minister Counselor Nguyen Trac Toan, Colonel, Vietnamese Military Attaché to Cambodia Nguyen Anh Dung and other leaders.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Secretary General Nhem Valy and Governor Chann Sophal stressed that Cambodian people always respect and give gratitude for assistance of Vietnamese soldiers and volunteers to help Cambodian people free from the genocidal Pol Pot regime. 

The inauguration ceremony is also on the occasion of the 50th establishment anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations, highlighting the good traditional friendship and solidarity relations between two countries. 

Presently, 12 among 17 Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monuments have been restored in Cambodia.
