This was noted at a conference jointly held in Vietnam’s central Nghe An province on June 20 by the High Command of the Military Zone 4, and Division 1 and 2, and Military Headquarters of Laos’s Vientiane, Xaisombound and central provinces which share border with the Military Zone 4.

The event reviewed affiliation outcomes in 2016 and put forth tasks for this year.

In 2016, the High Command of the Military Zone 4 instructed relevant units to take the initiative in partnering with their Lao counterparts and localities in agreed cooperation sectors.

During the 2016-2017 dry season, the Lao side has assisted the Military Zone 4 units in searching and repatriating 200 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos, the conference heard.
