The Vietnamese delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Defense Nguyen Chi Vinh; and the Japanese delegation was led by Japanese Deputy Minister of Defense Manabe Ro.
At the dialogue, the countries’ defense ministries discussed the regional and international issues which two sides paid more attentions in last years; and appreciated implementation result of cooperation contents which Vietnam and Japan agreed in the fourth Vietnam- Japan Defense Policy Dialogue in Tokyo.
Senior lieutenant-general Nguyen Chi Vinh said that Vietnam believed in the good defense relationship of the two countries via the dialogue.
Overcoming the post- war consequences is always one of the issues that the Party, the State and the People's Army of Vietnam specially pay attention. Vietnam suggested Japan to consider ODA assistance to carry out a pilot cooperation on dioxin treatment technology at the Bien Hoa Airport, and help Vietnam clear postwar bombs and landmines.
Mr. Manabe Ro stressed that relationship between two countries and ministries of defense get the good achievements in previous times.
The partner agreed to research abilities for construction cooperation, exploitation of Center of Information Technology and Foreign Languages of University of Communications under the Ministry of Defense of Vietnam.
Both sides pleased with prioritizing negotiations.
