VN & Laos highlight role of women in National Assembly

The Standing Committee of the Vietnamese National Assembly and Laos National Assembly co-organized a workshop on role of female deputies in National Assembly’s activities in Da Nang city yesterday.

Vietnamese National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and Laotian National Assembly Speaker Pany Yathotou chaired the workshop.

Speaking at the workshop,  the Vietnamese leader strongly affirmed that the workshop was one of the practical events to mark the 55th anniversary of establishment diplomatic relationshipd, the 40th anniversary of Friendship and Cooperation Treaty (July 18, 1977-2017) and Year of Vietnam- Laos Friendship and Solidarity.

Additionally, the event aimed to strengthen exchange and share experience on parliamentary activities of women deputies of the two countries, as well as create conditions to help women raise the voice on policies relating to women, children and gender equality.
