VND6.6 trillion raised for the poor from charity TV program

Vietnam Television and the Vietnam Fatherland Front held a Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City television program on New Year’s Eve to raise funds for the poor, and VND6.6 trillion was donated by localities, organizations and individuals.

The Noi Vong Tay Lon (Big Circle of Hands) program is held annually at the end of the year and it was the 10th time Saturday night. The program aired live on VTV1 involved a number of senior officials as well as representatives of large companies, foreign embassies and overseas Vietnamese present in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

During the night, a number of hand-made products were auctioned to raise fund for the poor.
