DakDrinh River in Quang Ngai Province
The Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation began construction of a hydroelectric dam on the DakDrinh River in Quang Ngai Province on Wednesday.

The VND3-trillion project is scheduled to begin generating power in 2010.

Its 125MW power station will be able to supply 520.8 million KWh of electricity per annum to Dung Quat Industrial Zone, Quang Ngai’s western districts, the neighboring province of Quang Nam, and the national grid.

The DrakDrinh is the main tributary of the Tra Khuc, the largest river in the central province.
