Young volunteers from HCMC to join campaign in Laos

Eighty young volunteers attended a launch ceremony near Uncle Ho’s Statue in front of the Committee Hall in Ho Chi Minh City on July 28, for two campaigns that will place in Laos from July 28 to August 5.

The young volunteers included students, doctors and cadres, who will take part in two campaigns in Laos from July 28 to August 5 titled ‘Pink Holiday’ and ‘Green Summer’ and will also participate in various activities in Phouvong, Sanxay and Xaysetha Districts in Attapeu Province; and Pathumphone and Khoong Districts and Pakse City in Champasak Province in Laos.

They will conduct  medical checks-up and distribute free medicines to 3,500 people, offer 6,000 notebooks to disadvantaged students, organize computer training courses, and give instructions in rice, vegetables, and rubber cultivation. They will also gift 10 computers to Attapeu Province.

The voluntary campaign aims to promote friendship and solidarity between the youth of Vietnam and Laos, and contribute towards social, economic and cultural cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and provinces in Laos.
