Due to bad weather, the northen mountainous provinces of the country will suffer heavy rain and thunderstorm. The National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center said yesterday afternoon total rainfall in the north reached 50-100mm with 140mm in Bac Ha (Lao Cai province); 120mm at Yen Binh (Ha Giang province) and 120mm at Trung Khanh (Cao Bang province).

The center forecast from August 12 to 14 the northen mountainous provinces and Ha Noi will see strong wind at 8-10 level and rain on the large scale. Mr Hoang Duc Cuong, Director of center said torrential rainfall is forecast to be listed at No.2 risk level.
As result, flooding will appear on Hong - Thai Binh river system. Rivers from Thanh Hoa to Nghe An provinces, flooding will be from 4-6m at upper areas. Landslide will be able to occur in the nothern and central northen provinces from Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, to Thanh Hoa and Nghe An.
From August 13 to 17 flooding can also occur in the urban areas such as Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh and Hai Duong.
While in the southern province, the weather is forecast to be worse than previous days due to the effection of Westsouth monsoon. In Da Nang, Nha Trang to the southern region, there are heavy rains & thunderstorms
This is considered as strong rain, the National Committee for Search and Rescue sent its dispatch to the northern mountainous provinces' authorities and Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and revelant agencies
to be ready for controling flooding and move local residents out of dangerous places; coping with bad weather.
