Bad weather to hit East Sea

The southern territorial waters of East Sea from Binh Thuan to Gulf of Thailand and Spratly Islands are forecast to face level 6- 8 strong wind speed and thunderstorm on Thursday and Friday because of the strong operation of the southwest monsoon, reported the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center.

In mainland, on going flood level has increased rapidly and alerted at level 1-2 on local rivers in the central region.

In addition to the effect of east wind, prolonged medium to heavy rains will continue to shoulder over the central provinces from Quang Binh to Thua Thien Hue with its rainfall of 50- 150mm.

By September 15- 18, the rainfall increase up to 200- 300 mm in the areas from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh, some places at over 300mm.

Thus, flood level on local rivers from Quang Binh to Thua Thien Hue as well as upstream rivers from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh is also predicted to rise rapidly.
