Because of an influence of typhoon Damrey’s circulation, heavy rains are warned to appear in Thua Thien- Hue province from November 3-8 with total rainfall of 400- 600 mm, even up to over 800 mm.

In case of the heavy rainfall, a huge flash flood is expected to hit the rivers.

In addition, water level at the Binh Dien Hydroelectric Plant rose very highly at 76.23 meters, higher than the controlled flood water level at 1.73 meters.

In order to protect the dam, Head of the Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue Phan Thanh Hung yesterday asked water release at the Binh Dien Hydroelectric Reservoir.

Time for the water release began at 2pm yesterday.

Currently, the People’s Committee of Thua Thien- Hue decided to ban activities of salt exploitation and tourist on the Huong River.
