Central region makes efforts to overcome consequence after flood

The flood- hit- provinces of Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Quang Ngai and Thua Thien- Hue quickly carried out measures to help local people in overcoming consequences as well as stabilizing their production and life after recent flooding days.

Although the rainfall has been reducing in the localities, water level in rivers and reservoirs was reported to be still high. 

The floodwaters isolated residential areas as well as flooded provincial road DT 640, 636 B under 0.4- 0.7 meters. .

Torrential rain and flashflood caused 52 kilometers- long landslide in communes of Xuan Quang 1, Phu Mo and Xuan Lanh; and destroyed over 600 hectares of vegetable and flower crops in lowland areas of Phu Yen province.

The Agricultural Office of An Lao district in Binh Dinh province said that around 57 hectares of rice crops, 1,000 meter- canal system and 10 tons of seed rice were swept by floodwater.

Additionally, more than 1,000 livestock were killed. Total damage is estimated to reach over VND 14 billion. 

Because of powerful operation of cold air, the territorial water of the Ly Son Island saw big wave and sea rough. 

In the coming days, the territorial water of Quang Ngai will continue suffering the northeast monsoon of level 6-8 and torrential rain. 

The National Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention said that at least seven dead and one injured people were reported after the recent flooding days.
