A cold front from the north is moving south and forecast to cause rainfall in the northern and central regions from tonight, according to the National Hydro Meteorological Forecasting Center.
Northern provinces will have rain beginning tonight while central provinces will see medium to heavy rain from tomorrow.
From October 6, the cold snap will combine with an inter-tropical convergence zone resulting in torrential downpour in the central region and the Central Highlands.
The rain will linger 2-3 days in provinces between Quang Binh and Ninh Thuan with the total precipitation being expected from 100 to 200mm.
The national weather bureau warned of flash flood and landslide in mountainous areas from Nghe An to Ninh Thuan Provinces and the Central Highlands.
