Cold spell to hit North Vietnam

An intense cold snap will hit northern mountainous provinces and northeast regions of North Vietnam on Wednesday morning before affecting other parts of North Vietnam, north central and central coastal regions, according to the National Hydro Meteorological Forecasting Center.

Due to the cold snap, North Vietnam and central coastal regions will have heavy rain with wind speed of level 3 in the mainland and level 4-5 in coastal areas.

The Gulf of Tonkin and northern parts of the East Sea, including waters of Hoang Sa Islands, will experience strong winds of level 6-7 with gusts upto level 8-9 from Wednesday.

From Thursday evening, mid-waters of the East Sea, including waters of Truong Sa Islands, and waters from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau Provinces will face strong winds speeds of level 6-8 and see rough seas.
