The eastern part of northern region and several parts of the north central provinces experienced cold weather, said the National Center for Hydro Meteorological Forecasting this morning.

The center warned from now till tomorrow, the north central region continues to suffering cold weather dropping the temperature at 8 to 11 degrees Celsius, 4 to 7 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas and even below 3 degrees Celsius in several areas.

Cold weather is forecast to last two days. The possibility of light rain, snow will also appear in the mountainous areas of northern region.

Due to the impacts of cold wave combined with north east wind, some areas of the north part of the east sea (including Hoang Sa Archipelago) will see strong winds, sea rough.

The provinces from Quang Binh to Danang from today till December 30 experience heavy rains with rainfall at 40 to 70mm per 24 hours while the temperature in Hanoi on December 29 to 30 will be 9 to 12 degrees Celsius.

The flooding will be able to appear in the provinces from Thua Thien Thue to Khanh Hoa. Water levels on rivers in Hue to Quang Ngai will rise at alarming level 1 and 2.

Landslide, flash floods will occur in low-lying areas and urban areas from the provinces of Quang Binh to Khanh Hoa, said the Center.
