Depression trough to cause downpours

The National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center yesterday said that the first storm hitting the country this year has entered Guangdong province of China.

However, the northern provinces and Thanh Hoa have still suffered medium- heavy rains on the large scale because of powerful operation of an ongoing low pressure trough.
From the midnight on June 15, the depression trough will be compressed by a cold front from the northwards, causing medium- heavy rains.

A flooding is warned to appear in rivers of Thao, Lo and the upstream rivers of hydropower reservoirs of Son La, Lai Chau and Tuyen Quang.

A flashflood is forecast to hit some northern mountainous provinces of Lai Chau, Yen Bai, Ha Giang and Dien Bien.

The area of Ho Chi Minh City will see sunny weather without rain in next two days.
The highest temperature in the city can reach 34 degrees Celsius.
