In particular, the highest temperature in provinces from Nghe An to Phu Yen was predicted 40- 41 degrees Celsius, even soared over 43 degrees Celsius in some places.

The weather agency issued a record-breaking heatwave warning of between 35 and 38 degrees Celsius, above 38- 39 degrees Celsius in some places of the Southern region from April 22- 28.

The heatwave warnings were due to an impact of low- hot pressure zone compressed by high air pressure from the Northern region.

April 22 is forecast to be the hottest day for the Central region with the maximum temperature at over 40 degrees Celsius.

As a result of upper west wind convergence above 5,000 meters, the Northern region is warned of thunderstorm, cyclone, lightning, hail and gusty wind.
