Heat wave develops over northern, central region

A heat wave occurred in many areas of the northern and central regions with temperatures averaging 35-37 degrees Celsius and toping 38-39 degrees in places on July 9, according to the National Hydro Meteorological Forecasting Center.
 
Specifically, the mercury soared to 38 degrees in Mai Chau district of Hoa Binh province 38.2 degrees in Yen Chau of Son La.
 
Some areas in the north central region experienced 39 degrees heat, for instance Hoi Xuan commune, QuanHoa district, ThanhHoa province and Con Cuong district in Nghe An.
 
Temperature will increase by 1 degree on July 10 and the heat wave will cover the entire northern region and continue expanding in the central region.
 
Ho Chi Minh City and the southern region will be cool with the mercury swinging from 24-33 degrees. HCMC might see rainstorms in afternoons and at nights, daytime will be sunny.
