Heat wave unabated in southern region

According to the National Hydro Meteorological Forecasting Center, the wide spread hot and muggy condition will continue in the southern region but stop in parts of the central regions from today.

On May 2, temperatures were prevalent at 35-37 degrees in central provinces from Ha Tinh to Phu Yen, some places saw it rise to 38 degrees.

The heat wave is forecast to end in provinces from Ha Tinh to Thua Thien-Hue but remain spreading in provinces from Da Nang to Phu Yen and the southern region today.

The northern and north central regions will see showers and thunderstorms over wide areas under influence of a cold front. Some portions will have medium to heavy rains.

Showers and scattered thunderstorms will fall in the Central Highlands in the late afternoon.
