Heavy rain, cyclone uproot trees in HCMC

A heavy rain accompanied with thunderstorm occured in Ho Chi Minh City, causing uprooted trees and traffic congestion in some areas of district 12, Binh Thanh district and Binh Chanh district’s Vinh Loc A, Vinh Loc B commune yesterday afternoon.

Two trees with diameter of 20 cm along Tran Quang Khai and Phan Van Dat street in district 1 were uprooted by strong wind, causing traffic congestion.

Cyclone also blew up ten of house’s roofs at Vinh Loc A and Vinh Loc B in Binh Chanh district. Currently, local authorities help residents to repair their houses and clean uprooted along roads.

The Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center in the southern region said that the rainy season comes across the southern region therefore many areas in Ho Chi Minh City will see showery weather and thunderstorm at night. The Center has announced that local residents need to pay attention to cyclone, hail and strong wind.
