Heavy rains continue to hit central Vietnam

The provinces from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa continue to experiencing heavy rains on the large scale.

The rainfall is measured at 43mm in Quang Ngai province’s Chau O Station; 46mm in Binh Dinh province’s Hoai Nhon Station and 47mm in Phu Yen province’s Cung Son Station respectively.

Due to the impact of a cold wave, the National Center for Hydro Meteorological Forecasting said today October 4, the provinces from Thua Thien Hue to Khanh Hoa continue to suffer heavy rains and thunderstorms. In Quang Nam to Binh Dinh provinces will experience heavy rains with rainfall from 40 to 70mm per 24 hours.

Floods are forecast to appear on the rivers from Quang Nam to Binh Dinh provinces. The possibility of flash floods and landslides may occur in the above provinces’ mountainous, low-lying areas.
