In order to protect reservoir and downstream areas of the Red river valley, the Son La Hydroelectric Power Plant yesterday announced to open its sluice gate under a direction of the National Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention.
As plan, the hydroelectric power station will release 3,400 cubic meters of water per second at day time, and 1,700 cubic meters per second at night.
In process of water discharge, the National Steering Committee for Search and Rescue of Hoa Binh yesterday asked the local authority to move people out of the hydropower plant's area.
