Landslide & flashflood to hit northern mountainous region

According to the Central Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center, landslide and flashflood are predicted to hit the northern mountainous provinces of Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Can, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Lai Chau and Dien Bien from August 29 to September 31.

The floodwater level is warned to raise 1- 2 meters 
Because of an influence of tropical convergence range in combination with strong operation of the southeast monsoon, the northern provinces have experienced medium- heavy rains. The highest rainfall in Lai Chau, Yen Bai, Quang Ninh and Thai Binh reached 54- 92 mm. 
From August 29- 31, the northern provinces would continue suffering medium- heavy rains and thunderstorms with its rainfall of 50- 100 mm; especially, the rainfall in the provinces of Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Lang Son, Bac Giang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Phu Tho and Lai Chau would reach at 100- 200 mm. 

Flood level on Chay River will rapidly raise within next 4- 12 hours because of an impact of water release from the Bac Ha Hydropower Plant.
